111 Minna Gallery and Studio Fallout are proud to present I Saw but I Did Not See, the first San Francisco solo exhibition by legendary collage artist Winston Smith since 2023.
Originally planned for North Beach, the show has been reimagined as a pop-up exhibition at 111 Minna—an exciting one-night-only event where all artworks will be sold directly off the walls.
This is a make-up show following the postponement of Winston’s previous exhibition due to a sudden heart attack. Now recovered and creatively recharged, Winston has returned to the blade with his signature urgency, producing an entirely new body of work.
I Saw but I Did Not See draws deeply from the chaos of current events, showcasing a powerful mix of all-new pieces and rarely seen works from the archives. Some are searing and prophetic; others lean toward the playful and reflective—but all are unmistakably Winston.
From Renaissance to Dada, Winston’s visual language invites viewers into a psychic journey through the absurd, the unjust, and the beautifully surreal.
Join us on Thursday, August 21st at 111 Minna Gallery. The exhibition begins at 5 PM, with Punk Rock Karaoke at 6 PM and goes until 10pm. 21+
This is a rare opportunity to experience—and take home—original works by one of punk’s most iconic and enduring visual voices.
“I’m looking forward to debuting this exhibition” says Winston Smith, Creative Director at Studio Fallout. “We’ll be showcasing new originals as well as some of my favorite classic compositions from the past, complimented by some whimsical, thought-provoking pieces to soften the blow. Hope you can make the scene!”
